Print Stories: Autumn ‘24 Fleece

“For autumn this year we were massively inspired by nature, especially mountainscapes. We have a load of mountain-inspired prints coming through this season…”

Hannah, Menswear Designer.

We’re all for taking the slow roam. Outside in no hurry—active members of the Autumn Appreciation Society. At Passenger, we welcome colder days, the chance of rain and crisp mornings as the sun takes its shortened course across the sky. It’s officially off-season, so longer trips are on with fewer crowds and quieter spaces to roam. Coastlines, hillsides, riverbanks and the road… all in all, good day(s) to wear a fleece.

Autumn ‘24 sees new prints and colourways hit the collection with fir trees, leaves and mountains on the mind. Here we explore the new fleece offerings and the inspiration behind them. Read The Story Behind Our Autumn 24 Collection to fill in the gaps, if any.

A community favourite recast in a sort of abstract camo, the Clover Recycled Cotton-Lined Sherpa Fleece is a mid-weight easy wearer with popper fastenings and cuffed, curved hems. The cord front pockets contrast the lighter autumnal hues, with brushes of pink, oat and green across the body. Suited to cabin life, there’s room for a sweater or hoodie underneath if the cold persists. But it’s not too warm, it’s cosy without the restriction of a hood or high collar.

For a less abstract, more on-the-nose alpine camo, the men’s Offroad Recycled Sherpa Fleece offers a 1/2 zip for a snugger fit with a REPREVE ripstop chest pocket to house your essential carries. As the name suggests, the ‘Offroad’ fleece is made for days of discovery on local trails or far-off peaks. It’s not too heavyweight, but you get that nice cosy feeling with the higher neckline and cuffed sleeves—hands in pockets, beanie on and out the door.

The word ‘Strata’ is used to refer to a layer (or series of layers) of rock in the ground. They’re usually parallel, creating a wave effect stacked one atop the other. It’s also a standout colourway within our Autumn ‘24 collection found on the Trekker Recycled Deep-Pile Sherpa Fleece. It’s a men's fit but can be easily down-sized for women, making for a classic style in our super warm recycled polyester sherpa fleece. The khaki / green combo feels very seasonally appropriate.

On the subject of colour, the Offgrid 2.0 Recycled Sherpa Fleece now comes in a Dusty Lilac. The Offgrid is a true Passenger staple and it’s been a community favourite for a long time now, for good reason. This season we’ve improved the fit and sizing based on customer feedback and upgraded the double-brushed sherpa fabric—it’s as warm as it sounds. Lilac, a new one for us but we see it going down well with our roamers.

"We want the Roamer’s new favourite piece to be versatile… they can grab it last-minute when going out the door and it’ll work for all eventualities."

Katie, Womenswear Designer.

An honourable mention goes to the Set Off Recycled Polar 1/4 Zip Fleece, a slightly different setup and feel but still super cosy for colder evenings around the fire and as a mid-layer for half-day roams. Somewhere Wilder’s Leo is a big fan, opting for the new Mountain Geo Charcoal style during their recent stay on Little Firs. The classic heritage-inspired fit keeps you toasty without the bulk, so you can easily wear an insulated jacket or waterproof over the top.

A more contemporary take on the fleece, the Iris Collarless Recycled Fleece Jacket sits really nicely over a light sweater or shirt for everyday wear. The cosy sherpa outer, polar fleece inner, and handy front pockets combine to offer up something a little different without straying from the Passenger way. It’s available in Oat and Baked Clay, the latter a firm favourite of Ambassador Kat Craats on her visit to HQ earlier this year. She’s an expert in the field; the Beaumont Recycled Sherpa Fleece page proves it.
