The Story Behind our Autumn 24 Collection

The styling draws from vintage guidebooks, forest hues, footnotes and faded routes. We need little more than the trees, waves, sun and sky to feel alive.

Nowhere Bound was pulled from a previous run of Passenger tees. It just felt right, to unpick and reuse. Framing up forest tracks, fallen leaves and a laidback approach to the roam. A tribute to analogue and the slow lanes of travel, fulfilment without distraction or a predefined heading. Clothing built for the long route home and inspired by simply being… Nowhere Bound.

We hope you find meaningful escape in them.

Moodboards & Mountains of Inspiration

Head in the clouds, mountains on the mind and many a heads-down creative session at HQ to explore colours, words, environments, images, feelings, shapes, and styles that bundle together to create that ‘cosy’ autumn feel. Strong coffee and good people made it happen, all the time thinking back to: “What does our Roamer want? What do they need this season?”.

Hannah: For autumn this year we were massively inspired by nature, especially mountainscapes. We have a load of mountain-inspired prints coming through this season, like our new Mountain Geo, Abstract Mountain and Alpine Camo prints.

Katie: We want the Roamer’s new favourite piece to be versatile… they can grab it last-minute when going out the door and it’ll work for all eventualities. I want them to feel content wearing it. Whether it’s the cosiness, comfort or an added splash of colour.

Colours, Prints & Materials

This season you’ll spot a few 2.0s, new textures, upgraded fabrics and updated fits in amongst the collection. We’ve listened, taking on feedback from field tests and roamer experience, tweaking, and adding designs and colourways to suit the season. We know that everything we do has an impact, and we think a lot about the footprints we leave behind. Protecting rainforests for today and planting trees for tomorrow, using responsible packaging and thoughtful design. Read up on Our Materials and Plant & Protect for more.

“The sort of fabric that gets better with age and a good few wears.”

Hannah: On the men's side, we’ve extended our collection of the Backcountry Cord Shirt. As a community favourite this time of year, we’ve got the same shape in a new flannel texture, check and stripe design. Also, the Sherpa fleece variation is perfect for that autumnal change in temp… great around a cosy campfire.

Hannah: We’re bringing back the much-loved Mens Vantage Dungaree & Trousers. But this time in a heavier and even more durable fabric. They have that classic ‘workwear styling’ in a 385 gsm 100% Organic Cotton Canvas - the sort of fabric that gets better with age and a good few wears.

“We wanted to offer the Roamer a similar shape, more suited as a transitional piece into the colder months.”

There sure is...

Katie: We’re always trying to see what else we can offer to our female Roamer that we don't already have. We’ve thought long and hard about what our Roamer needs and have created new styles based off some favourite pieces, that offer something a little different.

Katie: The Kai and Maren are inspired by our much loved Alexander Fleece and Ocean Jacket but in a looser fit and warmer. We have also added some more cosy styles into the range including the Orion Sherpa-Lined Polar Fleece Shirt. Another new shape which is a great transitional piece is the Iris.

Katie: There is a real trend for collarless styles at the mo, and although we try not to follow trends, this one works for us as the outcome is a perfect layering piece. Another new shape and style is the FINN Jacket. Based on the success of the Inspire, we wanted to offer the Roamer a similar shape, more suited as a transitional piece into the colder months. Still super cosy though with a colour-pop fleece liner. There’s also our new Waves and Trees collection, which carries through to accessories.

An Autumnal State of Mind

Rising pre-dawn with beanie on and trusty—slightly beat-up—flask steaming up the windscreen. Breathing life into cold hands before turning the key and flicking the headlights on, catching in the morning mist. Autumn brings this bright, crisp excitement to the day. The slate wiped clean, adventure calling. Colder dips, bigger waves, the sky brushed with deep ambers and salmon pinks framed crooked in the mirror. All in all, a good day to wear a fleece.

“We looked closely at the warm colour hues and levels…”

Hannah: Cosy and warm… I hope our community find their new favourite piece to travel and explore in. We named the first two collections ‘Forest Feels’ and ‘Autumn Umbers’ as we looked closely at the warm colour hues and levels that everyone loves in autumn - from traditional Khaki greens to warm browns and ‘Burnt Oranges’... I can’t wait for all the new Checkerboard styles to drop this autumn.

Standout Pieces

“the Ace Dungarees, (...) way too cool to keep hidden inside.”

Katie: The new colourway of the Ace Dungarees, perfect for lounging but also way too cool to keep hidden inside. The Kai - a super warm and comfy jacket due to the slightly oversized design and fit. This is a warm but lightweight jacket that will stuff down small. Due to the shape, it's a perfect top-layer jacket.

Katie: I also love the Iris. The fact that this is collarless makes it perfect to wear as an underlayer when it's cold but at the same time works perfectly as a top layer for autumn.

Featured Womens products…

Hannah: The community has asked and we’ve listened, the women’s Ocean Jacket has been a staple piece for a while now and it was about time we introduced a men's fit version… I am looking forward to this one dropping in some fresh colours.

Hannah: My favourite piece for autumn is our Deep Pile Trekker Fleece in the new ‘Strata Khaki’. I just love the print - as the name suggests it is inspired by the patterns made from layers of rock in the ground… everything in nature is so easy to be inspired by!
